The reason Why ~

Born on Vancouver Island, in the mid 70s, I was fortunate to be introduced to many different cultures and ways of thinking. The Island was an eclectic mix of off the grid Nature enthusiasts living along side the timber, mill and fishing industries that make up the backbone of the economy.  The Islands beauty also brought world wide Tourism, that further introduced me to new and interesting thought patterns, as well as ignorant ones. Over time, I watched my island rapidly loose a large portion of the “backwater” pace, that gave it our uniqueness, in favor of one more corporate and commercial.

 All of these influences, observations and interactions coupled with the Wisdom gained through life’s journey, has given me a hunger to introduce others to Ideas and new, or different, ways of thinking. However, I found that a lot of our society is uncomfortable processing ideas that are outside their immediate mental comfort zone. This caused me some discomfort and loneliness as I wanted to share ideas but at the same time I never want to push them on people.

 So, I decided to create this, Wizard Beard Broadcasting, website as an area in which I can satiate my desire to find and share ideas, and interact with like minded people, as well as shine a spotlight on people and places on my Island.  I will start small with blogs and a  weekly companion podcast, but will have room to grow when the new ideas form.
